Cowork and plugins for teams across the enterprise

Anthropic just dropped a big update for Cowork and plugins aimed at enterprises: admins can create private plugin marketplaces, manage plugins, skills, and connectors (including MCPs) in a single “Customize” menu, and choose from a growing set of pre-built templates—from HR and design to engineering, operations, and finance. Plugins turn Claude into role-specific agents; now you can distribute them across the org the way you want.

What it does

Cowork is Claude’s team workspace. Plugins add skills, commands, and connectors so each team gets a Claude tuned to their tools and workflows. This release focuses on who controls what and how easy it is to roll out.

  • Private plugin marketplaces — Curate and distribute plugins inside your organization; optional private GitHub repos as plugin sources (private beta), per-user provisioning, and auto-install.
  • Unified “Customize” experience — Admins see and manage plugins, skills, and connectors in one place. Set up from starter templates or from scratch, with Claude guiding setup by asking questions.
  • Better connector management — Improved directory, clearer admin controls, and simpler bundling of connectors into plugins. New connectors include Google Workspace (Calendar, Drive, Gmail), Docusign, Apollo, Clay, Outreach, Similarweb, MSCI, LegalZoom, FactSet, WordPress, and Harvey; plus plugins from partners like Slack by Salesforce, LSEG, S&P Global, and Tribe AI.
  • Pre-built plugin templates — Ready-made workflows for HR (offer letters, onboarding, performance reviews, compensation), Design (UX copy, accessibility audits, user research), Engineering (standups, incident response, deploy checklists, postmortems), Operations (process docs, vendor eval, runbooks), Brand voice (Tribe AI), and finance roles: financial analysis, investment banking, equity research, private equity, and wealth management.
  • Slash commands with forms — Running workflows like “generate report” or “dashboard” now launches structured forms so it feels like filling out a brief instead of writing a long prompt.
  • Company branding — Cowork can reflect your org’s look and a redesigned home experience.
  • OpenTelemetry — Admins can track usage, costs, and tool activity across teams.

Claude can also work across Excel and PowerPoint in one flow: run an analysis in Excel and turn it into a presentation in PowerPoint, with context passed between the add-ins. It’s in research preview for paid plans on Mac and Windows.

Why it matters

Enterprises need Claude to fit how they work—different roles, different tools, different compliance and governance. Private marketplaces and a single Customize surface mean admins decide what’s available and how it’s bundled, without a free-for-all. Pre-built templates (especially HR, design, engineering, ops, and finance) give teams a fast path to value instead of building everything from zero. Cross-app Excel ↔ PowerPoint is a step toward Claude handling multi-step work the way people do: move between apps and carry context along.

How to try it

Plugin UX updates are available to all Cowork users. Company branding, provisioning, and MCP controls are for Team and Enterprise admins.
